Welcome to a new year of Reading Little League Baseball! Although it is
February, our preparation for the new season is underway. Over the last
few weeks, we have been working on league placement and team selection, and we
plan to announce teams by the end of next week. After that time, your coach
will reach out to you with an introductory email.
As we get closer to the season, additional details including practice and game
schedules will be released. A general timeline for the season can be
found below, as well as an overview on league and team creation. We look
forward to a great Spring season!
Spring Baseball Timeline
The start of our season is contingent on the town of Reading granting access to
the fields based on weather and conditions. If the fields are not ready for use,
early practices will be canceled.
- April 1st – Outdoor practices for all leagues (weather and fields permitting)
- April 23rd and 24th - First games for all leagues
- June 11th - Playoffs begin
- June 18th and 19th - Championship Games
Summer Baseball Timeline
Reading Little League offers many opportunities for Summer play regardless of
skill level.
Those contemplating playing on our highly competitive travel baseball teams
(ages 9-12), often ask about schedules so they can plan Summer vacations. Our
best estimate is that these teams will play from June 21 to August 15, with
practices or games almost every day.
Please plan vacation schedules accordingly if you believe your child may make a
District or Baystate roster as teams may be penalized if rostered players are
not present at games. The league will request vacation schedules before making
roster decisions.
